“Mrs. America” is a watercolor-based drawing created by Birdie's Editor-in-Chief, Kenzie Boney, which embodies the essence of women in America. The mannequin at the center of the piece is tainted and coated in brass — signifying it’s been battered with and bruised. It lacks a face, with emphasis on its body, to represent the objectification, oppression and resentment that has been spewed towards women throughout history. "Mrs. America" is poignantly delivered in a way that combines beauty with its tragic past — a colorful array of hope and power.
