who we are
Birdie Zine is an independent literary and visual arts publication accentuating innovative, thoughtful and ingenious spoken and unspoken work.
Encapsulating wonder, tangibly, is not an easy task. To articulate the words unsaid and thoughts unread is arduous but noble. In commemorating a moment in time before it flashes to another, a brave new world has the potential to be paved. If done right, magic unfolds. If captured, empathy enraptures. The moonbeam is held tightly around clasped fingers; the rainbow’s end marked with an ‘X.’ At Birdie Zine, we yearn to achieve all of this—to unrelentingly bridge the gap between creativity and creation, experience and artistry.
We’ll let wonder fly as you observe it pass fantastically by.
MEET THE BIRDIES
Kenzie is a twenty-two-year-old writer and poet based in Southern California whose artistic endeavors lie within capturing the beauty of all things analogous with melancholy and the blues through words and rhythm. Kenzie will receive her Bachelor of the Arts in Literary Journalism from the University of California, Irvine this Fall, and hopes to pursue a career in the world of creative writing. She was an editor for the Arts & Entertainment section of UC Irvine’s campus newspaper, New University, and has published an array of music and film reviews simultaneously during her time at the publication.
